I cant believe Polly hasn't seen Alien, One of the best Sci-Fi horror movies out there. My parents took me to see it when I was 8 and it scared the crap out of me. Didn't understand the movie then, but love it now!
My father, God rest his soul, took me to see this film when it first came out in the theaters a long time ago. When the alien made his appearance for the first time (about 30-45 minutes into the film) I threw-up and started screaming in the theater. He took me out to the lobby to calm me down, but we decided to leave. Sorry Dad. It was a good idea, though. We still had fun that evening, like we always did...until it was time for me to go to my home and he to his home.
